Trip to Crater lake,MT Shasta

Dear readers

Roaming is always fun and that too when you do a whole week of work and then you have two days to have only fun and nothing else. Four of us got ready in the morning and we left home by 11.
First stop was temple. It is really nice to see temple in a place far far away from home. We did pray and had some prasadam there and started for trip to crater lake. Its almost 400 miles from san Jose. The trip is very scenic for quite some time. Then comes a long route of I5 which is just straight road and nothing else to do but just to drive and drive. Our first stop was shishikau lake. Sorry don't remember spelling of lake. It is very nice place to hang around. There are boating options but its mostly personal. We couldn't find place where we could rent boat. Next stop was to Shasta caves. We reached at 4 and that was late. So we started for Mt Shasta. Mountain is visible for quite some distance. There was little snow on mountain. Falling sunrays on mountain was making the mountain simply great. We stayed there for some time. We took snaps and then we started the last part of our journey to crater lake. It was night by time we reached klamath falls. Yeah klamath falls is not a fall but the place where we booked hotel to stay.It is 60 miles from crater lake. We were all tired. We had food quickly and slept to start trip for next day.
Trip to crater lake goes along klamath lake which is very scenic. You can go along the lake for quite some time. Then we reached the lake finally. The lake is simply fabulous. You would never find such clear blue water. There is lot of writeup on it and why it is so clear. You can go around the rim.Its a 33 miles drive. There is place where you can do trail to touch the water. You can do boating also. The whole circle of crater lake will take 5 hrs if you stop at all points along the rim. We started back around noon to go to caves. Finally we got the pleasure of going on boat. They take you on boat to island. Then there is a bus which takes you to the caves entrance. Caves have lot of formations of calcite. Its really fascinating to hear that those formations took some million years to form. The tour guide explained all science abt rocks.
We came back from caves by evening. We were all tired and we started back home. We had food at Bk's. The two days went by like anything..It was like a dream. We were at home by midnight and no energy left to do anything but to sleep
:)
